Individual, group, online and face-to-face supervision
As professionals, we know that supervision helps us to reflect on and gain feedback and an alternative perspective about the content and process of casework. However, to my mind, supervision is also an encounter that offers validation and support both to a person and a professional. I see supervision as the ‘grown-up relationship’ of the therapy world with adult-to-adult dialogue that is both creative and collaborative. I feel that supervision also provides a place to rest the difficulties of your caseload so that you don't carry alone the unnecessary issues, problems and projections that arise from it. Additionally, supervision can help with effectively planning and utilising your personal and professional resources.
In my private supervision practice I have particular interest and experience of working with trainees and new-to-practice professionals, although I also work with very experienced counsellors, psychotherapists, sex therapists, complementary therapists and mental health professionals from integrative, existential, CBT, Gestalt, person-centred and the various psychodynamic backgrounds. I also work with hypnotherapists, welfare officers and professionals in educational settings. I offer face-to-face supervision from my practices in Bristol (BS1)as well as video-chat supervision to therapists all over the UK.
My supervision training was undertaken in an integrative model (validated by the Institute for Individual Psychology), and this allows me to work comfortably with many of the frameworks counsellors, psychotherapists and other mental health, complementary and educational professionals currently practise from.
I hold a broad portfolio of work as a supervisor, including being an experienced group, individual and online (video-chat) supervisor with experienced and trainee practitioners in my private practice. I have previously also worked for a number of counselling and educational institutions in and around Cambridgeshire and Suffolk as a supervisor.

My fee for supervision is £65. Trainees £POA.

Specialist supervision for sexual casework
If you are a therapist, and actively work with sex, you’ll probably agree with me that one of the commonly weak areas in the general training of counsellors and psychotherapists is the lack of focus on sexual difficulties. To my mind this is one of the greatest oversights of contemporary training, especially when you consider how often sexual relationship issues are a presenting issue in the consulting room.
Since the Internet explosion of the early 21st century, new relationship issues and difficulties have arisen. The use of webcams for sexual acting out, online married affairs websites, sites for booking escorts and online streaming of pornography, for example, are all commonly used by men and women and can play an active role in relationship difficulties and breakdown.
HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOUR PRACTICE
As one of the most experienced therapists in the UK currently working with issues around sex and porn addictions I have more than 20 years’ experience of delivering supervision, and nearly two decades of inquiry and work in the area of sexual addictions.
I am always happy to act as a specialist supervisor for your sexual caseload on an ongoing basis or for specialist input on an as-required basis. I have written about sex and about supervision for magazines as diverse as Glamour and Therapy Today, consulted for Channel 4 and the BBC in the production of a number of documentaries on users’ experiences with porn, devised and run workshops in this subject area for various organisations (including the BACP’s AUCC conference) and written a book, Turned On: Intimacy in a pornized society (WiTTING Press 2010).
